A Level Results Day: Celebrating Outstanding Destinations
We celebrate our incredible students and their outstanding destinations on exam results day 2026.
The Hinckley Sixth Form's Class of 2026 celebrated the culmination of years of hard work and dedication on Thursday as they collected their A Level and BTEC results alongside friends, family and teachers. For many students, the occasion marked the end of an unforgettable seven-year journey that began at The Hinckley School. Having grown together as a close-knit community, they returned one final time to share in each other's successes, celebrate their achievements and look ahead to exciting futures after securing their chosen destinations.
The Class of 2026 will be studying degree courses including Biomedical Science, Politics and International Relations and Film Production at universities across the country, with many going on to study at leading Russell Group universities. Many students are excited to enter employment and begin competitive apprenticeships in areas such as HR, Electrical Engineering and Finance, with companies such as JCB.
Phoebe is celebrating today as her incredible A* in Criminology, A in Psychology and A in Sociology mean she has secured a place to study Sociology at the University of Warwick. When collecting her grades, Phoebe shared that it still hadn't quite sunk in, as she was feeling a mix of relief and happiness. Phoebe plans to continue to enjoy her charity volunteer work until she begins her course later this year and is looking forward to celebrating her well-deserved results.
Also beginning a new adventure at the University of Warwick is student Anastasia, who was joined by proud family from France and Canada today as she opened her results. Anastasia secured her first-choice destination after achieving an impressive set of results, which included an A in Drama and an A* in her Extended Project Qualification, which allowed her to take part in in-depth research she truly relished on top of her courses. She will now go on to study English Literature at the University of Warwick to follow her dreams of becoming an English teacher. “The last seven years have been amazing; I am very grateful for all the support from teachers and for the friends I have made along the way. It is an experience I will treasure forever.”
Class of 2026 student Madison shared Anastasia’s reflections on her unique seven-year journey. After opening her results she said, “I am happy, relieved and proud of myself. I enjoyed the freedom and independence of sixth form and am now nervous but also excited for my next step.” Madison achieved an A* in Chemistry, an A in Geography and a B in English Language and after her success at A Level, is now planning to study Chemistry at university.
Ollie is just one of the many students now looking to secure a dream apprenticeship, to combine learning with employment through a Finance Apprenticeship. Ollie modestly described himself as “pretty happy” after achieved an A* in Maths, a B in Further Maths and a B in Physics. He shared how his sixth form teachers have helped him to feel prepared for the next step and how he is now looking forward to celebrating his results with the many friends he has made over the last two years.
Following her lifelong passion for sport is fellow classmate Millie, who has achieved an A* in Physical Education, an A in Geography and a B in Maths, is very happy with her results and is looking forward to starting a degree in Sports Management at Loughborough University. Reflecting on the past two years and her delight at securing her first-choice destination, she shared, “I have really enjoyed my time in sixth form, having more independence and making new friends - it has helped me feel ready for university. I am really excited to now start university in September.”
Millie’s mum joined her to collect her results and said, “I am really proud, and happy she got what she deserved, as I have seen all the hard work.”
Students Talitha and Stanley have both decided university is the route for them as they are set to begin their studies at their first-choice destinations later this year. Talitha is celebrating securing a place to study English Literature at Durham University, after achieving an A* in the subject. After opening her incredible results, Talitha shared how much she has enjoyed her time at The Hinckley Sixth Form, “I have had excellent teachers and enjoyed all my courses. I am really pleased to have secured my first-choice destination and am excited for the next step.”
Stanley meanwhile is now eagerly awaiting his first day as one of two students from The Hinckley Sixth Form going on to study Mathematics at the University of Leeds. Stanley secured his place thanks to his fantastic results, with an A in both Maths and Physics, as well as a B in Chemistry. After feeling “terrified this morning”, Stanley shared how happy he is with his results and having secured his first-choice destination. He said, “I feel very excited and feel ready now for university.”
Abieyuwa’s celebrations were also well deserved as she achieved a Distinction* in Health and Social Care, an A in Business and an A in Maths. She said, “When I opened the results, I was so happy with them. I will now be going to De Montfort University to study Accountancy and Finance to hopefully become a Chartered Accountant for one of the Big Four firms.”
Having joined the school in Year 10, Abieyuwa reflected on her time with us: “It has been such a wholesome experience, I have enjoyed everything; it has just been amazing. I am thankful to teachers for their help. I have had Miss Bull since I first started, and she has been amazing throughout and such a big support.” She added, “I am sad to be leaving but excited for the new chapter. Sixth Form has made me feel equipped and prepared, as the whole place felt like university already.”
After celebrating and supporting students on results day, Director of Sixth Form Vicky Bull said, “We are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication and resilience. Their achievements are a testament to two years of hard work and independent study. We wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.”
