Celebrating Outstanding Destinations

Class of 2025 Celebrates Securing Incredible Destinations

The Hinckley Sixth Form’s Class of 2025 celebrated with their friends, family and teachers on Thursday as they collected their A Level and BTEC exam results. For many students, this marked the end of their unforgettable seven-year journey, as they congratulated each other on securing their dream destinations.

Students have once again secured the grades they needed to continue to outstanding destinations. The Class of 2025 will be studying degree courses including Law, Natural Sciences and Aerospace Engineering at leading universities across the country, including the University of Cambridge, as well as entering employment and beginning competitive apprenticeships in areas such as project management. Everyone at The Hinckley Sixth Form is incredibly proud of what these inspirational young people have achieved and know that they will continue to build a brighter future for themselves.

Congratulations on accepting a place at the University of Cambridge Ewan!

Ewan is celebrating today as his incredible four A* grades mean he has secured a place to study Natural Sciences with an integrated Masters at the University of Cambridge; a dream made a reality through his hard work and dedication, and supported by the Sixth Form’s bespoke Early Entry Oxbridge Pathway. Ewan credits this with helping him to stand out during the interview process. Thinking of a career in research in the future, Ewan is understandably over the moon with his results and shared how supportive teachers have helped him over the past two years: “Teachers here help to push you, they give you independence, and the space to grow on your own.” Ewan now has a mix of nerves and excitement as he looks ahead to his next adventure, but is delighted to be leaving The Hinckley Sixth Form with a lot of new friends, great memories and the destination of his dreams.

Looking back on seven-years of unforgettable memories, Elliot, shared how he wished he “could stay here forever” after collecting his impressive results. Securing an A* in Maths and a grade A in both Physics and Chemistry, and now looking to pursue a career in engineering in the future, Elliot reflected on his time in sixth form: “I have enjoyed my time here and it has flown by, I’ve had really knowledgeable teachers who pushed me to do better. They were great and really cared about my success.”

Following his lifelong passion for Mathematics, Jake, who has achieved three A grades in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry, is very happy with his results and now looking forward to starting a degree at Loughborough University later this year. Meanwhile, classmate Felix has also been able to accept their first-choice destination to study Modern History and Politics at the University of Manchester. Both students are extremely excited for the next chapter and can’t wait to put all that they have learnt at The Hinckley Sixth Form into practice. Felix shared, “Having our own mature study spaces has made me feel ready for university style learning.”

A student now combining learning alongside employment is Ollie, who has secured an exciting apprenticeship as a Buying Assistant at Mediq within the healthcare sector. Ollie feels ready for the new challenge, and says that the Sixth Form has helped him prepare for the future. Having joined The Hinckley Sixth Form alongside lots of his friends from Hastings High School, Ollie is now graduating as part of the Class of 2025 after a great two years, with unforgettable memories, including playing for the Sixth Form Colts XI Rugby Team, and with lots of new lifelong friends.

Two of the many students who are celebrating after having enjoyed an unforgettable seven-year journey through The Hinckley School and The Hinckley Sixth Form are Jenson and Onyx, who both secured their first-choice destinations. Jenson is now off to the University of Leicester to study Computer Science, and feels prepared for university life thanks to teacher support and by using the mature Sixth Form facilities. Meanwhile, Onyx is set to study International History and Politics at the University of Leeds, having been inspired by his GCSE and A Level History teacher. Looking back at his journey, Onyx said, “Being here already for my GCSEs meant an easier transition to sixth form; the subjects are amazing and there has never been a dull moment.” He went on to say, “I have really loved sixth form, I’ve been given the space to be myself and find who I truly am. I’ve made some of my closest friends and it has made me more confident.”

Students Darcy and Ethan thanked all their teachers today for helping them secure their first-choice destinations after collecting their results. After studying Drama, Sociology and Maths, Darcy is now looking forward to studying Primary Education at the University of Northampton, while Ethan is celebrating securing the grades he needed to begin a degree in Astrophysics at the University of York. Ethan, who is now excited to start a course he has always wanted to do, looks back at these last two years fondly: “I’ve made the best memories here with friends; teachers have always been good at pointing me in the right direction and it is a lovely environment.”

Michael celebrated alongside his very proud family, having secured the grades he needed to accept an offer from his first choice university. He is now excited to be joining the University of Northampton to study Primary Education.

After celebrating and supporting students on results day, Director of Sixth Form Vicky Bull said, “We are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication and resilience. Their achievements are a testament to two years of hard work and independent study. We wish them every success in the next stage of their journey.”

Congratulations Class of 2025!
